MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING COURSES

More than a quarter of accidents reported each year to the enforcing authorities are associated with manual
handling. 
 
With litigation and damages becoming common when an injury has been sustained it is important that proper
training is given to operatives to ensure that they are not injured whilst transporting or supporting a load by hand
or bodily force.
 
COURSE OBJECTIVE
 
The course is designed to assist delegates in identifying situations where manual handling techniques are
absolutely necessary. 
 
It provides the skills and knowledge required to perform manual lifting and handling operations competently and
safely. 
 
The course information is based on the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, amended 2002. In
addition, these regulations implement European Directive 90/269/EEC. 
 
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
 
This course is suitable for all employees who may be involved in manual handling as any part of their duties. 
 
PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
An awareness of Health & Safety issues would be an advantage but not essential.

  The human body, Spine and related injuries. 
  Safe Handling Practices. 
  The use of Handling Aids

  Kinetic Lifting. 
  Delegate Assessment of Understanding.  
 
INTENDED OUTCOME 
 
Delegates who successfully complete the course will receive a Total Logistics Training Ltd Certificate of
Achievement in Manual Handling.
